A Long Winters Nap

The farm has been "sleeping" for the most part these past winter months. It doesn't mean there's not work going on. It simply means that the schedule hasn't been as crazy. Thank goodness!

The down time gave me a chance to get away for a few days and visit my family in Houston and attend my sister's much anticipated wedding. It was a lovely visit! (and a beautiful wedding!) Time is so fleeting. We understand that in our mind's, but it's so easy to let it get away from us. Life pulls us in different directions. I'm trying to do better about setting aside time to spend with the people I love the most. I'm sure many of you struggle with the same dilemma.

I do have a chicken and an egg update. The chickens are laying again. Yay!! They are beginning to wake from a deep sleep as well. Thank goodness! It's about time! In one of my last blogs I mentioned that they took the winter off for a time of rest and recuperation. They are not laying at full production yet, but it won't be long. Time, rest, and patience.....I think there's a life lesson in there somewhere. What do you think?
