Spring is Coming!

lanissacoker

Several signs of spring are all around us. (some of them a little bit too early) We were very surprised to see the daffodils coming up in the latter part of February. Usually they begin their rupture out of the ground the first week of March. I've also observed several of the tulips that I planted in the fall beginning to come up. (that one makes me really nervous) 😧 I would hate for them to be damaged by the frosts that we will continue to have.

In recent days I've started pruning the berries. That's a work in progress. It's going to take several days. I took a few before and after pictures. They aren't that good.😕 It's a little difficult to know what to look for. In the picture I'm posting you will see the group on the right has been pruned and is trimmed. The berries on the left have not been done. They currently look messy and unruly. I'm also including a few pictures of the tulips and daffodils that are coming up. Hopefully they survive! 🙏🤞🙏🤞 On a happy note, Meghan is enjoying more work being done outside.. She likes to sit alongside me watching and working in her own way.

Pruning is never easy.....especially when you cut off new buds....ouch! With every cut there's a part of me that worries I'm going to kill the plant. I have to remind myself that pruning is healthy and encourages new growth. Hmm 🤔 Sound familiar? I think people are much the same way. None of us like to be pruned. But the end result can be very promising!
