Winter Chores and Challenges

My goodness! It's never a dull moment. The latter part of last week and into the beginning of this week we needed to be out of town for a few days. We took some much needed time to see family and a few friends. Doesn't it seem like when you take a few days off it takes double the time to get caught back up? Laundry.....so much laundry. I also got home and discovered that my dishwasher decided to call it quits....๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ก

February is one of those "in between" months for me. I have yet to begin planting, but all of those seeds I was talking about needing to order a few weeks ago have now arrived. I've been sorting through them, getting them in order so that I can begin the process in the coming weeks. It's also time to start pruning. That's a big chore! It's one that will take several days. I'll be sure to take some before and after pictures. You won't believe the difference.

The good news is that even though it is still winter, recent days have brought some slightly warmer temperatures. The chickens are much happier! ๐Ÿ” We had several days when it was a challenge to keep their water from freezing. There are chicken water heaters that can be purchased, but those can present problems of their own. For us, it's just easier to go out a couple of times a day to make sure they have access to water. Here are a few before and after pictures of the frozen water. Hopefully we don't have too many more of those days.๐ŸคžNow it's time to go shopping for a new dishwasher. ๐Ÿ™„
